RippleX, the development division of Ripple, has launched the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund with the aim of fostering innovation, supporting partnerships, startups, and community growth in the Japanese and Korean markets. The fund is now open for applications and seeks to promote the development and integration of XRPL-based solutions in these regions. It will provide financial support and resources for corporate collaborations, startup investments, developer grants, and community-building initiatives. The goal is to accelerate the adoption and utilization of the XRP Ledger in Japan and Korea by inspiring new ideas and leveraging the capabilities of the XRPL.
In related news, SBI Holdings, a Ripple partner, has started minting non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the XRPL for the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan. A total of 920 NFTs have been created as part of this initiative, which aligns with SBI’s plans to launch the “EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet NFT” service. Emi Yoshikawa, Ripple’s VP for Strategic Initiatives, highlighted the progress and real-time tracking capabilities of the minting process through on-chain data.
Furthermore, Ripple has expanded its collaboration with Archax, the UK’s first registered crypto exchange and custodian. The extended partnership aims to introduce a significant volume of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) to the XRP Ledger by next year, with a focus on achieving a substantial amount of tokenization.
