Revolut, the leading fintech firm in the U.K., has unveiled a cutting-edge cryptocurrency trading platform called Revolut X. This platform is specifically designed for professional traders in the crypto market and aims to compete with top exchanges by offering seamless trading experiences and competitive fees. In a press statement released on May 7th, Revolut announced its objective to provide users with a professional-grade platform that allows for easy transitions in and out of crypto positions.
Revolut X charges a zero maker fee and a 0.09% taker fee, regardless of the trade size. The company emphasizes that existing Revolut users can enjoy the integrated trading experience within the Revolut ecosystem without any fees, restrictions, or barriers.
It is important to note that in order to access the new exchange, traders on Revolut X must have a Revolut retail account. By doing so, they gain access to real-time trading and sophisticated analytics. Revolut X incorporates TradingView charts, providing users with a range of market tracking tools and technical indicators.
One significant feature of Revolut X is its support for XRP, allowing seasoned traders to buy and sell over 100 crypto assets, including XRP, for the first time on a desktop platform. It is worth mentioning that Revolut X is optimized for larger screens like laptops and is not compatible with smaller devices such as mobile phones.
Revolut has taken steps to ensure the security of users’ assets, with most of them being stored in cold storage. The inclusion of XRP among the initial launch phase’s supported cryptocurrencies has garnered attention from the XRP community.
Some members of the community have suggested that Revolut X’s zero maker fees and low 0.09% taker fee could position it as a formidable competitor to Uphold, a U.S.-based crypto platform known for its support of XRP. Other supported digital assets on Revolut X include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
Originally established in 2015 as a money transfer service in the U.K., Revolut has grown to become one of the most prominent fintech companies in the country, with a global user base exceeding 40 million. In 2017, Revolut entered the crypto space, allowing users to purchase, hold, and exchange digital currencies. The addition of XRP to its list of tradeable assets in May 2018 was a significant milestone for the company.
Revolut sees Revolut X as a major step forward in establishing itself as the premier financial application for both novice and expert cryptocurrency users.
