XRP could potentially surpass the $1 mark if it increases proportionally alongside the global crypto market cap hitting $5 trillion, a prediction made by Ripple CEO Garlinghouse.
Back in April, Garlinghouse forecasted that the global crypto market cap could skyrocket to $5 trillion by the end of this year. He pointed to macroeconomic trends and the capital influx triggered by spot Bitcoin ETFs as factors that could fuel this surge.
During this year’s Consensus event, the Ripple CEO reiterated his confidence in this projection while discussing the crypto ETF market. This positive outlook has sparked speculation about the potential impact on various cryptocurrencies, including XRP.
Currently, XRP is trading at $0.5113 with a market cap of $28.3 billion, while the total crypto market cap is at $2.5 trillion. If Garlinghouse’s prediction materializes, the crypto market would double in value, presenting significant opportunities for XRP.
Assuming XRP’s market cap increases in direct proportion to the overall market, a $5 trillion market cap could see XRP’s market cap rise to $56.6 billion. With a circulating supply of 55.35 billion tokens, this could push XRP’s price to $1.022, slightly below some market analysts’ projections.
Some analysts believe that XRP reaching $1 could just be the beginning of its upward trend. World of Charts recently projected a potential XRP price increase to $5, while CryptoBull identified a market structure that could push XRP to $154.
These ambitious targets could significantly boost XRP’s market cap and market dominance. If XRP hits $5, its market cap could reach $276 billion, with a market dominance of 5.3% if the crypto market cap remains at $5 trillion.
